Structural engineers · Rotterdam · since 1998

Built on numbers.

Structures checked twice, drawn once. Bridges, towers and roofs for architects, builders and cities that want to sleep at night.

Sheet 02 · Services

What we work out.

Four kinds of work, all done by the same twenty engineers in one room by the harbour.

  1. 1

    Structural design

From the first sketch with your architect to the drawings the builder works from.

  2. 2

    Second checks

We check other engineers’ numbers before a council or a bank needs them.

  3. 3

    Old buildings

New floors, new holes and new uses for buildings that were never meant to have them.

  4. 4

    On site

An engineer on site every week while it goes up, with a report the same day.

Sheet 03 · Process

Checked twice, drawn once.

  1. 01

    Survey

We measure what is there, or what will be.

  2. 02

    Calculate

Every load, every beam, every joint.

  3. 03

    Check

A second engineer redoes it from zero.

  4. 04

    Draw

    Only then, and only once.

  5. 05

    Build

On site until the last bolt.

Sheet 04 · Detail

The joint is the job.

Beams are easy. Where two of them meet is where buildings fail, so every joint gets its own drawing, its own sum and its own check.

Sheet 06 · Questions

Asked often.

When should we bring in an engineer?

As soon as there is a sketch. A beam moved early costs nothing; a beam moved on site costs a week.

Do you work with any architect?

Yes. About half our work comes through architects, the other half straight from owners and builders.

What does a second check cost?

Usually between three and eight percent of the design fee, fixed before we start.

Send us the drawings.

A sketch on a napkin is fine. We reply within two working days with what we see and what it would cost to work out.
